Detectives Investigate Series of Vandalisms in Silver Spring Area; Surveillance Video of Suspect’s Vehicle Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating eight vandalisms to parked vehicles that occurred in the Highland View West neighborhood of Silver Spring in mid-February.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the suspect’s vehicle and are asking the public for help in identifying the owner or operator of this vehicle.

The following vandalisms were reported to police:

On February 8, two residents in the 9000 block of Eton Road and a resident in the 9200 block of Saybrook Avenue reported that during the overnight hours the windows to their parked vehicles were shot out by an unknown type of projectile.

On February 12, three residents in the 9100 block of Eton Road and two residents in the 9100 block of Wire Avenue reported that during the overnight hours the windows to their parked vehicles were shot out by an unknown type of projectile.

Investigators ask that anyone who recognizes this suspect’s vehicle or who may have any information regarding these vandalisms to contact the 3rd District Investigation Section at 240-773-6870. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.  Callers may remain anonymous.
