Detectives Investigate Hate-Based Vandalism to Synagogue in Rockville

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, April 1, 2020

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 1st District Investigative Section are investigating a hate-based vandalism to the Tikvat Israel Congregation located at 2200 Baltimore Road in Rockville.

The investigation has determined that on March 28 at approximately 1:28 a.m., the unknown suspect drove to the synagogue's parking lot and spray painted swastikas and derogatory epithets on the building.  Surveillance cameras captured the suspect committing the vandalism.

Anyone with information about this vandalism and/or the suspect is asked to contact the 1st District Investigative Section at 240-773-6089.  For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).  Tipsters can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
