Officers Investigate Theft from Subway Sandwich Shop in Colesville; Surveillance Photograph of Suspect Released

Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police - 4th District continue to investigate the April 18 theft of currency that occurred at a Subway sandwich shop in Colesville.  Today, officers are releasing a surveillance photograph of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help to identify him.

The investigation by officers determined that at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, the suspect entered the Subway sandwich shop located at 45 Randolph Road.  The suspect approached an employee who was working behind the counter and asked that employee if the store had any face masks.  The employee left the counter area to retrieve a face mask for the suspect.  While the employee was away from the counter, the suspect broke the change dispenser next to the cash register and stole coins from the dispenser.  The suspect fled from the Subway shop and was last seen entering a red sedan.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to call the 4th District station at 240-773-5500. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
