Update: Victim Identified in Aspen Hill Area Homicide

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a homicide that occurred late last night in the Aspen Hill area.  The victim has been identified as Robert George Dockery, age 19, of no confirmed address.

On Thursday, May 7, at approximately 11:35 p.m., 4th District officers who were on patrol in the area of Hewitt Avenue heard sounds of gunshots and began checking the area for evidence of a possible shooting.  Immediately after the officers heard the gunshots, the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received multiple calls for the report of a shooting that had just occurred outside in the 3100 block of Hewitt Avenue.

Officers in the area located Dockery in the street of the 3100 block of Hewitt Avenue suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Officers requested the assistance of Fire and Rescue personnel and attempted life-saving measures on Dockery.  Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene and transported Dockery to a local hospital.  Dockery succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.
