Detectives Investigate Homicide in White Oak Area

For Immediate Release: Monday, May 11, 2020

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the homicide of a female, who is believed to be an adult, and the assault of two additional adult victims that occurred this afternoon inside a residence in the White Oak area.  An adult male suspect was arrested at the scene.

On Monday, May 11, at approximately 3:22 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from a resident in the 900 block of Balmoral Drive reporting a possible stabbing at a neighboring home.  3rd District officers who arrived at the scene located three victims inside a home on Balmoral Drive suffering from injuries related to an assault.  The suspect was located at the scene and immediately arrested.

A female victim was declared deceased at the scene.  The second female victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.  The male victim was treated by Fire and Rescue personnel at the scene for his injuries.

The homicide victim’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore.  An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of her death.

The victim’s identity will be released once her family has been notified.  The suspect’s identity will be released once he is formally charged.

The investigation is ongoing.  Detectives continue to work to determine the relationship between the suspect and the victims, however, it does not appear that the suspect was involved in a domestic relationship with any of the victims.

Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.  Callers may remain anonymous.
