Detectives Investigate Homicide on February Circle in White Oak

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, May 12, 2020

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a homicide that occurred last night on February Circle in White Oak.

On Monday, May 11, at approximately 10:05 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (911) received a call from a 26-year-old male reporting a shooting in his apartment in the 11500 block of February Circle.  Officers responded to the area and instructed the male via the Communications Center (911) to come outside of the apartment building.  The male exited and officers observed several visible injuries to his body.

Inside the caller's apartment, officers located a 21-year-old male deceased of an apparent gunshot wound.  The decedent is identified as Marcus Ahmed Jordan of an unconfirmed address in Georgia.

The 26-year-old male was arrested and transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The decedent's body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore where an autopsy will be performed.

Investigation by Major Crimes detectives has determined that the decedent was visiting and staying with his 26-year-old family member.  The two became involved in a physical altercation and during the altercation, the 26-year-old male shot Marcus Jordan.

Based on the facts known to detectives at this time and the evidence collected, and after consultation with the State's Attorney's Office, the 26-year-old male was released from custody pending further investigation of this incident.
