Detectives Investigate Hate-Based Vandalism to Wilson Wims Elementary School

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police -5th District Investigative Section are investigating a hate-based vandalism that occurred to the Wilson Wims Elementary School located at 12520 Blue Sky Drive in Clarksburg.

On Thursday, June 18, a Wilson Wims Elementary School employee reported to police that she had discovered racially-themed words spray-painted on a sidewalk near the side of the school.

On Wednesday, June 24, an additional Wilson Wims Elementary School employee reported that he had discovered racially-themed words spray-painted on the roof overhang of a portable classroom.

Investigators believe that the vandalism occurred sometime between June 17 and June 18.  Detectives are asking residents who live near the school and who have home surveillance cameras, to review their surveillance video during the June 17 to June 18 time frame for any suspicious activity at or around the school.
