(LOCATED) Fourth District Officers Investigating Case of Found Child; Ask for Public’s Help to Locate Parents or Guardians

Update: July 4, 2020, at 9:00 p.m. - A parent/guardian for Andrew has been located. 

Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Fourth District Station are attempting to locate the parents or guardians of a male child who was found walking alone along Hewitt Avenue in Aspen Hill this afternoon.

This afternoon (Saturday, July 4), at 4:35 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a call regarding a child seen walking alone on Hewitt Avenue.  Responding officers located the child walking on Hewitt Avenue near Georgia Avenue.  The child told officers that his name is Andrew and that he is 5 years old.  He is unable to tell officers where he lives.  The child was transported to the 4th District Station where he is currently being cared for by police until his parents or guardians can be located.

Officers are releasing a photograph of the child to the public and are asking that anyone who recognizes this child to contact officers at the 4th District Station at 240-773-5500 or to call the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
