Detectives Investigate Armed Robbery of Business Inside Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the July 8 armed robbery of the Auntie Anne’s pretzel store located inside the Lakeforest Mall at 701 Russell Avenue in Gaithersburg.   Today, detectives are releasing surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Wednesday, July 8 at approximately 11:10 a.m., 6th District officers and Gaithersburg Police Department officers responded to the Auntie Anne’s pretzel store located inside Lakeforest Mall for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.  The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the mall and approached an Auntie Anne’s employee who was working behind the counter.  The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register.  The suspect stole cash, fled from the mall, and was last seen on foot toward Lost Knife Circle.
