Police Continue to Seek Community's Assistance in Locating Missing Silver Spring Woman with Alzheimer's (LOCATED)

UPDATE:  Petra Escalante-Lerma has been located safe and unharmed!  Thank you to everyone for your assistance!

The Montgomery County Department of Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Silver Spring woman who has Alzheimer’s.  An active search continues and any assistance the community can provide is appreciated.



Petra Escalante-Lerma, age 82, was last seen by family at approximately 9:00 am this morning (October 6) when she left her home in the 13000 block of Connecticut Avenue on foot.  Escalante-Lerma may be utilizing the public transportation system (Ride-On, Metro).

Escalante-Lerma is described as approximately 5’1? tall, weighs approximately 120 pounds, and has brown eyes and gray hair. She uses a wooden cane to walk.  She was last seen wearing a black and white striped sweater, a white turtleneck, and a green skirt. Escalante-Lerma speaks Spanish.
