Detectives Investigate Armed Robbery and Auto Theft in Downtown Silver Spring; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section continue to investigate the August 27 armed robbery of a 61-year-old male that was committed by three male suspects and occurred in the downtown area of Silver Spring.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the three suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

On August 27, at approximately 9:53 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 8800 block of Colesville Road for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. The victim stated to officers that he was entering his apartment building when the three suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, confronted him.  The suspects stole the victim's property, to include his car keys.  The suspects located the victim’s vehicle in a nearby parking lot and fled the area in the victim’s car.

On August 28, the victim’s car was located unoccupied on 22nd Street in Southeast, Washington, D.C.
