For Immediate Release: Thursday, November 19, 2020

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the robbery of the Glen Echo Pharmacy in Glen Echo that occurred on November 12.  The Police Department is releasing surveillance video of the robbery and is asking anyone with information about the robbery or the two suspects to come forward to police.

On Thursday, November 12, at approximately 8:04 p.m., officers responded to the report of a robbery at the Glen Echo Pharmacy located at 7311 MacArthur Boulevard.

Investigation determined that the two suspects entered the building and went directly to the rear of the store where the prescription medicine is stored.  The suspects ordered the employees to get on the ground.  The first suspect began to remove medications from the shelves and put them in a duffle bag that he had brought with him, while the second suspect, having one hand concealed in his sweatshirt, served as a lookout and continued to scream at the employees not to get up from the ground.  The first suspect struck one of the employees in the head with his hand during the robbery.  After the first suspect had stolen the medications, he stepped on another employee as he vaulted the pharmacy counter.
