Detectives Investigate Serious Collision Involving Juvenile on Skateboard

For Immediate Release: Saturday, November 28, 2020

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a serious collision involving a juvenile on a skateboard and a vehicle that occurred on Friday night.

On Friday, November 27, at approximately 10:10 pm, 1st and 2nd District officers and Fire & Rescue personnel responded to Montrose Road at Evelyn Drive for the report of a collision.

Preliminary investigation by detectives has determined that a 2012 Toyota Prius, driven by Najeem Amin Jan, age 47, of Dumfries, Virginia, was traveling west on Montrose Road.  A 15-year-old male was riding a skateboard and was crossing Montrose Road.  The two collided in the area of Evelyn Drive.

The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
