Detectives Investigate Attempted Armed Robbery of Food Truck in Downtown Silver Spring; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the October 12 attempted armed robbery of a food truck located in downtown Silver Spring.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On October 12, at approximately 5:40 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the report of an attempted armed robbery at the Silver Hot Dog food truck located at 1112 Wayne Avenue. The investigation by Major Crimes detectives has determined that the suspect approached the employee working in the food truck, threatened the employee with a weapon, and demanded cash from the business.  The suspect did not obtain any property or cash and fled on foot toward the Silver Spring Metro Station.

Anyone with information about this suspect or this attempted armed robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.
