For Immediate Release: Sunday, December 6, 2020

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District Investigative Section continue to investigate the circumstance surrounding the shooting of a two-year-old male that occurred yesterday afternoon inside a home in Montgomery Village.

On Saturday, December 5 at approximately 5:18 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call stating that a 2-year-old male had been shot in one of his lower extremities.  The caller, who identified himself/herself as a family member of the victim, stated that the shooting occurred inside a residence in the 19400 block of Brassie Place and that he/she was currently driving the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, detectives interviewed multiple witnesses, to include the victim’s family members, who were inside the Brassie Place home when the shooting occurred.  Investigators also located evidence that indicated that the victim was shot while inside the house.  Detectives determined that the victim does not live at that Brassie Place address.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding how the victim was shot, to include whether the shooting was accidental or if it was a criminal act.  Child Protective Services (CPS) personnel were also notified of the facts surrounding this investigation.

Investigators ask that anyone with information about this shooting to contact the 6th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5770. Callers may remain anonymous.
