Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section have charged Ezekiel David Harris-Goff, age 18, of an unconfirmed address, with two counts of robbery related to the December 1 robbery of an adult male and an adult female that occurred inside the Ellsworth Place mall in downtown Silver Spring.   Harris-Goff was also charged by Major Crimes detectives with an armed carjacking that occurred on November 2 in Silver Spring.

On Tuesday, December 1, at approximately 1:45 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Ellsworth Place mall located at 8661 Colesville Road for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives determined that the two suspects entered the Ellsworth Place mall at the Fenton Street and Roeder Road entrance.  The suspects confronted and assaulted the two victims as the victims were attempting to exit the mall at Fenton Street and Roeder Road.  During the assault, the suspects stole property from the victims and fled outside the mall.  The suspects were last seen entering a silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo and fleeing the area.

On December 4, detectives released surveillance video of the suspects to the media and public and asked for the public’s help in identifying him.

Detectives received a tip from a resident that identified Harris-Goff as the suspect seen in the surveillance video wearing the red shirt.  Third District Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Harris-Goff charging him with the robbery.

Major Crimes detectives, who were investigating an unrelated November 2 armed carjacking that occurred on 16th Street in Silver Spring, identified Harris-Goff as a suspect in the carjacking.   Major Crimes detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Harris-Goff with the November 2 armed carjacking.

On December 4, Harris-Goff was arrested on the strength of the armed carjacking warrant.  He is being held without bond.

On December 23, Harris-Goff was served at the Montgomery County Detention Center with the arrest warrant charging him for the December 1 robbery at the Ellsworth Place mall.

Third District investigators continue working to identify the second suspect in the Ellsworth Place mall robbery.

The police department thanks the tipster who provided the information that led to Harris-Goff’s identification.
