Detectives Investigate Carjacking in Downtown Silver Spring

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating a December 22 carjacking that occurred in the parking lot of a restaurant in downtown Silver Spring. The Police Department is asking anyone with information about the three male suspects or this carjacking to come forward to the Department.

The investigation by detectives has determined that at approximately 9:00 p.m. on December 22, the adult male victim was sitting in his car and preparing to leave the parking lot of a restaurant located at 8533 Georgia Avenue when he was approached by the three suspects.   The suspects forcibly removed the victim from his vehicle and then assaulted the victim.  The suspects were last seen in the victim’s car driving south on Colesville Road toward Washington, D.C.

The victim described all three suspects as black males.  One suspect is described to be in his mid-20’s, with a skinny build, and wearing a grey jacket.
