Detectives Investigating Homicide in Germantown

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 5, 2021

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred at an apartment located in the 20000 block of Frederick Road in Germantown yesterday.  The victim has been identified as Russell Troy Huffman, age 38, of that address.

 

On January 4, at approximately 4:54 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call for the report of a person who was not breathing in the apartment.  Officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded and located Huffman inside the residence suffering from trauma to his upper body.  He was pronounced deceased at the apartment.

 

Huffman’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
