2020 Holiday Alcohol Task Force Enforcement – Week Seven

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, January 6, 2021

Holiday Alcohol Task Force officers are devoting their full-time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses this holiday season.

During this past week's enforcement (December 29 - January 3)

  • 41 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DUI) by task force officers*
  • 6 of the 41 people arrested for DUI were arrested for DUI after being involved in a collision.
  • 4 drivers arrested for DUI were transporting minors in their vehicle and were charged with additional offenses.


During the past seven weeks of enforcement:

  • 242 people were arrested for DUI by task force officers.
  • 44 of the 242 people arrested for DUI were arrested for DUI after being involved in a collision.

*It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by task force officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties.  Therefore, the overall number of DUI arrests made by officers during this time period is higher.

**For future reference, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a restriction in place that bars and restaurants were closed for dine-in (carry-out only) during this week of enforcement.
