Detectives Investigating Attempted Bank Robbery in Gaithersburg; Surveillance Photos Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the attempted robbery of a M&T Bank that occurred on January 28 in Gaithersburg.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the male suspect and his vehicle are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Thursday, January 28, at approximately 1:49 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the M&T Bank located at 5 Bank Street for the report of a robbery.  The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect approached a teller, announced the robbery, and demanded cash.  The suspect did not obtain any currency from the bank and was last seen fleeing the area in a black Chevrolet Malibu.
