Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit continue to investigate a January 17 attempted theft from a vehicle that was parked outside a residence in the 14000 block of Congress Drive in Aspen Hill.  Today, detectives are releasing surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.  Investigators believe that this same suspect may have committed similar thefts from vehicles in the surrounding area during this same time period.

The following attempted thefts/thefts from vehicles that occurred in the Aspen Hill area during the overnight hours of January 17 in the Aspen Hill area were reported to police:

• 14000 block of Flint Rock Road – suspect entered the victim’s vehicle, but no property stolen.

• 13900 block of Congress Drive – suspect entered the victim’s vehicle, but no property stolen.

• 14200 block of Brad Drive – suspect entered six vehicles at one residence.  Property was stolen from one of these vehicles.

Investigators are also releasing surveillance video of a suspect who entered a vehicle and stole property at that same address in the 14000 block of Congress Drive on December 24, 2020.  Detectives are working to determine if the suspect in the January 17 attempted theft is the same suspect who committed the December 24, 2020 theft.
