Detectives Investigate Home Invasion Robbery in Gaithersburg

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred in Gaithersburg on February 13 and are asking anyone with information to come forward to the Police Department. Detectives do not believe that this was a random event.

On Saturday, February 13, at approximately 11:43 p.m., 6th District officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of N. Summit Avenue for the report of a home invasion that just occurred.  

The investigation determined that the male suspect entered the adult male victim’s apartment through a basement sliding glass door.  The suspect assaulted the victim and stole property.   Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene and treated the victim’s injuries.  

The victim described the suspect as a black male who is approximately 6’ 3” tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds.  The suspect was wearing a face mask, gloves, and all dark clothing.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information about this incident to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.
