Husband Arrested and Charged with Murder of Wife in North Kensington

For Immediate Release: Monday, March 8, 2021

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged Reginald Dunlap Jr., age 43, of the 11600 block of College View Drive in North Kensington, for the first-degree murder of his wife, Lauren Elizabeth Charles, age 40, of the same address.  Charles was discovered deceased in her home on March 7.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., on Sunday, March 7, the Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1) received a call from Dunlap Jr. stating that he found his wife deceased in their home.   Responding officers located Charles deceased inside the home with trauma to her body.

During the investigation, detectives identified Dunlap Jr. as the suspect.  

Charles’ body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of her death.

Dunlap Jr. was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Facility where he was charged with one count of first-degree murder.   Dunlap Jr. is being held without bond.
