Detectives Investigate Robbery in Montgomery Village; Video Surveillance of Suspect Released

Detectives from the 6th District are investigating a robbery of an adult female that occurred in the parking lot of a Giant supermarket located in Montgomery Village.  The Police Department is releasing cellular phone video of the robbery and surveillance video of the suspect and is asking anyone with information about the suspect to come forward to investigators.

 

The investigation has determined that on March 19 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the 63-year-old female victim was loading her groceries in her vehicle at the Giant grocery store located at 20044 Goshen Road.  A white Ford Fusion displaying paper tags drove toward her vehicle.  The suspect exited the Fusion and approached the victim.  He forcibly stole her purse from her shoulder.  There was a brief struggle before the suspect entered his vehicle and drove away. The suspect later used the victim’s credit card at a gas station in Wheaton.
