Detectives Investigate Robbery in Downtown Silver Spring; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

Detectives from the 3rd District continue to investigate the March 16 robbery of a 20-year-old female that occurred inside a parking garage in downtown Silver Spring. The suspects later used the victim’s stolen credit cards to fraudulently purchase items at a McDonald’s restaurant located in Washington, D.C.  Today, detectives are releasing surveillance video of the three suspects and asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

The investigation has determined that on March 16 at approximately 8:08 p.m., the victim was walking to her vehicle which was parked inside the parking garage located at 8700 Cameron Street when the suspects approached her from behind.  The suspects assaulted the victim, stole her purse which contained the victim’s credit cards, and fled on foot.  Fire and Rescue personnel responded and treated the victim at the scene for her injuries.

The suspects later used the victim’s stolen credit card at a McDonald’s restaurant located inside Washington Union Station at 50 Massachusetts Avenue in Northeast, Washington, D.C.
