Detectives Investigate Attempted Sexual Assault in Germantown; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Special Victims Investigations Division continue to investigate an attempted sexual assault of an adult female that occurred in Germantown.  Today, detectives are releasing surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Sunday, April 4, at approximately 7:04 p.m., 5th District officers responded to Briarcliff Terrace for the report of an attempted sexual assault that had just occurred.  

Detectives determined that the victim had entered the front of her apartment building when the suspect approached her.  The suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to sexually assault her. A neighbor, who heard the victim screaming, came to her aid.  The suspect fled the area on foot.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens to early twenties with short black hair.  He is approximately 5’6” to 5’9” tall and weighs approximately 150 to 170 pounds. The suspect was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, gray jogger-style sweatpants, and black shoes.
