For Immediate Release: Thursday, April 15, 2021

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District Investigative Section have arrested and charged Luis Enrique Davila Marrero, age 38, of Gaithersburg, with the robbery and assault of an adult female that occurred in the parking lot of a Giant supermarket located in Montgomery Village.

On March 19 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the 63-year-old female victim was loading her groceries in her vehicle at the Giant grocery store located at 20044 Goshen Road.  A white Ford Fusion displaying paper tags drove toward her vehicle.  The suspect exited the Fusion and approached the victim.  He forcibly stole her purse from her shoulder.  There was a brief struggle before the suspect entered his vehicle and drove away. The suspect later used the victim’s credit card at a gas station in Wheaton.

Detectives obtained a cell phone video of the robbery and surveillance videos of the suspect.  During the investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Davila Marrero.  The investigation also determined that Davilla Marrero owns a white Ford Fusion.

On April 12, Davilla Marrero was arrested on the strength of a Montgomery County arrest warrant charging him with robbery and second-degree assault.  He is being held without bond.
