Suspect Arrested For Homicide in Boyds

For Immediate Release: Friday, April 16, 2021

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged Rodjaun Orlando Neal-Williams, age 19, of Clarksburg, with second-degree murder of 23-year-old Javon Jamal Gordon of Boyds.

On Tuesday, April 13, at approximately 6:52 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (911) received a call for the report of a shooting in the 12900 block of Ethal Rose Way in Boyds.  5th District officers responded to the area and located the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body.  Lifesaving efforts were taken, but Gordon succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Office of the Medical Examiner ruled Gordon’s death as a homicide.

During the investigation, detectives determined that Gordon, on foot, and Neal-Williams, a passenger in a vehicle, had a verbal dispute.  During the altercation, Neal-Williams produced a handgun and Gordon was shot.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Neal-Williams, charging him with second-degree murder.

On April 16, Neal-Williams was arrested at the Public Safety Headquarters in Gaithersburg and is currently being held without bond.

This remains an ongoing investigation.  Anyone with additional information regarding Javon Gordon’s homicide is asked to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
