Detectives Continue to Investigate 2020 Homicide of Robert Dockery; Ask Public for Information

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the May 7, 2020, homicide of 19-year-old Robert George Dockery that occurred in the Aspen Hill area.  Investigators have exhausted possible leads and are urging anyone with information regarding this homicide to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online or via the P3 Tips app.  A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the homicide suspect(s).

On May 7, 2020, at approximately 11:35 p.m., 4th District officers were on patrol in the area of Hewitt Avenue heard sounds of gunshots, and began checking the area for evidence of a shooting.  Immediately after the officers heard the gunshots, the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received multiple calls for the report of a shooting that had just occurred outside in the 3100 block of Hewitt Avenue.

Officers located Dockery in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Officers requested the assistance of Fire and Rescue personnel and attempted life-saving measures on Dockery.  Dockery succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
