Detectives Investigate Residential Burglary in Wheaton; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a May 22 residential burglary that occurred in Wheaton.  During the burglary, a resident inside the home confronted the suspect causing the suspect to flee. Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Saturday, May 22, at approximately 9:02 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call from a resident reporting that someone had just broken into his home in the 12400 block of Flack Street.   The resident stated that he had confronted the suspect inside his home and the suspect had run away.   

The investigation determined that the resident was upstairs when he heard a noise downstairs. The resident went to investigate and observed the suspect walking on the main level with a flashlight. The resident confronted the suspect and he fled from the home without obtaining any property.  

Home surveillance video captured the suspect forcing entry through the rear door of the residence.
