Detectives Investigate Shots Fired in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police– 5th District Investigative Section are investigating the discharge of multiple firearms that occurred on June 5 at approximately 1:45 am in the area of Mill Pond Terrace and Mill Pond Court in Germantown.

On June 5 at approximately 10:00 am, officers responded to a residence on Mill Pond Terrace for the report of a possible shooting that had occurred earlier.  The resident told officers that he believed he had heard gunshots in the early morning hours.  Officers searched the area and located evidence of shots fired to include spent shell casings and damage to multiple homes and vehicles. No victims were reported to having been struck by the gunfire.

Officers spoke to one resident who provided them with home video surveillance of the incident.  Multiple suspects can be seen discharging guns in the video.

Residents in the area reported that there was a large party at a residence in the area that evening but it is unknown if this incident is related to that party.

This remains an ongoing investigation. Investigators are asking those homeowners in the area who have not already reviewed their surveillance camera footage from that evening to please do so and contact investigators if their cameras captured anything pertinent to this investigation.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspects involved is also asked to call 5th District investigators at: 240-773-6245.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers may pay a cash reward for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
