Detectives Investigate Shots Fired in Germantown

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police– 5th District Investigative Section are investigating the discharge of multiple firearms that occurred on July 15 in Germantown.  No victims were reported to have been struck by the gunfire and detectives do not believe that this was a random event.

On July 15 at approximately midnight, officers responded to Summer Oak Drive in Germantown for the report of a possible shooting.  During the investigation, officers located evidence of shots having been fired in the 18700 block of Curry Powder Lane.  This evidence included spent shell casings and damage to multiple vehicles.

This remains an ongoing investigation. Investigators are asking those homeowners in the area who have not already reviewed their surveillance camera footage from that evening to please do so and contact investigators if their cameras captured anything pertinent to this investigation.
