Montgomery County Detectives Investigate Gas Station Armed Robbery in Gaithersburg; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the July 26 armed robbery of a gas station in Gaithersburg. Investigators are releasing surveillance video of the two male suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them. 

   

On Monday, July 26, at approximately 2:25 a.m., 6th District officers responded to a gas station in the 10000 block of Fields Road for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred.    

  

The investigation by detectives determined that the suspects entered the gas station where an employee was working behind the counter. One suspect jumped behind the counter while the other suspect approached the employee and pointed an assault-style rifle at him. The suspects demanded money from the safe and cash registers.  

  

The suspects forced the employee to open both registers, and the armed suspect struck the employee. The suspects stole cash from both registers as well as some property from behind the counter. The suspects then fled the scene on foot towards Shelburne Terrace.
