Montgomery County Police Investigate Homicide in Wheaton Area

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, August 10, 2021

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred this morning in the Wheaton area. At this time, investigators believe this to be an isolated incident. 

 

On Tuesday, August 10, at approximately 8:56 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a call for a shooting in the 2000 block of Blueridge Avenue. 4th District officers responded and located a deceased male victim. 


The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of the victim’s death.

 

This remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation and no further details can be confirmed at this time.
