Montgomery County Police Investigate Silver Spring Armed Carjacking

For Immediate Release: Friday, August 20, 2021

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 3^rd District Investigative Section are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred on Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring. Detectives are releasing surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.  

The investigation by detectives determined that at approximately 10 p.m. on August 5, the victim was approached by two subjects, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The subjects demanded multiple items from the victim. The subjects then fled in the victim’s vehicle.  

Anyone with information regarding the suspects of this armed carjacking is asked to call the 3rd District Investigative Unit at 240-773-6870.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or submit a Crime Solvers tip online or via the app.  Crime Solvers may pay a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
