Detectives Investigate Gas Station Armed Robbery in Bethesda

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the August 16 armed robbery of a gas station in Bethesda. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the male suspect.  

    

On Monday, August 16, at approximately 10:21 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to a gas station in the 5100 block of River Road for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred.     

   

The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the gas station with a handgun in his hand. The suspect walked around the counter and pointed the handgun at an employee who was working behind the counter. The suspect then demanded the employee to open the lock box and the cash register and the employee complied. The suspect stole cash from both locations and fled the scene.  

 

The victim described the suspect as a dark-skinned Black male, thin build, 6-feet tall, approximately 150 lbs., in his 20's, wearing a black bandana, a black t-shirt and black pants.
