Detectives Investigate Attempted Armed Carjacking in Silver Spring; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Major Crimes Division are investigating an August 16 attempted armed carjacking that occurred at a gas station in Silver Spring. Detectives are releasing surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.


The investigation by detectives determined that at approximately 2 a.m., on August 16, the victim was pumping gas when a black four-door Mercedes pulled in front of him. Two suspects exited the car, one armed with a handgun. The suspects ordered the victim out of the vehicle at gunpoint and demanded property. One suspect then entered the victim’s vehicle. Additional property was stolen from the victim. The suspects then attempted to flee in the victim’s vehicle.
