Detectives Investigate Fatal Collision in Bethesda Area

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Friday, September 3 in the Bethesda area.  

 

At approximately 10 a.m., 2nd District Officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Nicholson Lane and Nebel Street for the report of a two vehicle collision that just occurred.  

 

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a blue Suzuki motorcycle was traveling westbound on Nicholson Lane, approaching the intersection with Nebel Street. The second vehicle, a silver Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Nicholson Lane and was attempting to make a left turn to northbound Nebel Street. The two vehicles collided near the intersection. The operator of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The operator of the Honda remained on scene and was uninjured in the collision.  

 

The decedent is identified as Rolando A. Prandy, age 31, of Columbia.  


The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continues to investigate this collision.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.
