Montgomery County Police Arrest Home Invasion Suspect. Second Suspect At Large

Gaithersburg, MD - A 30-year-old Silver Spring man has been arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Home Invasion, First Degree Assault, and use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, following a home invasion in Germantown. 

On Sept. 17, 2021, at approximately 1 p.m., Montgomery County Police 5th District officers received a call for a home invasion robbery on the 18000 block of Bent Willow Circle.

Responding officers spoke with a male victim who stated that he had been assaulted and robbed by two males who stole his television and other electronics.

Montgomery County Police Major Crimes detectives were able to identify one of the suspects as Garrett Spriggs-Duncan. An arrest warrant was secured for Spriggs-Duncan, who lives in Silver Spring. He was taken into custody without incident by the Montgomery County Police Repeat Offender Unit at his place of employment in Potomac. Spriggs-Duncan provided statements connecting him to the home invasion and he was transported to the Central Processing Unit where he is being held without bond.  

The second suspect is still at large. The Department urges anyone who has information on the identity or location of the second suspect in this case, to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
