Detectives Investigate First-Degree Assault in Silver Spring; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a November 1 first-degree assault that occurred in the 12100 block of Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance video of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.   

  

At approximately 7:30 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of an assault that just occurred.  

  

The 53-year-old male victim stated that he was walking on the sidewalk when the two male suspects approached and punched him in the face. As a result of the punches, the victim fell to the ground. At that point, one of the suspects kicked the victim in the face. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.   

  

Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

  

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of a nearby business and obtained a physical description of the two suspects.  

  

One of the suspects was described as a black male, in his 20’s, 5-feet, 8-inches tall, with a thin build, wearing a black winter jacket, a black mask, a red Washington Football Team t-shirt, black/white camouflage pants and black/white shoes.   

  

The other suspect was described as a Hispanic male, fluent in Spanish, 5-feet,10-inches tall, in his 20’s, with thin build, wearing a blue face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans and white shoes.
