Detectives Investigate Armed Carjacking in Silver Spring; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Major Crimes Division are investigating the November 8 armed carjacking that occurred in a parking lot located in the 13900 block of Castle Blvd. in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.   


At approximately 6:05 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed carjacking that just occurred.  

  

The 29-year-old male victim stated that he parked his 2021 gray Honda Accord bearing New Jersey license plate A83MJC in a parking space at the location. While the victim was sitting in the driver’s seat, the suspect approached the vehicle and asked him for help. The suspect then pointed a black handgun at the victim and ordered him to exit the vehicle and to give him his property. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands. The suspect then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle with the stolen property.  

  

Detectives have reviewed the surveillance video of a nearby business and obtained a physical description of the suspect.
