Detectives Investigate Attempted Armed Carjacking in Rockville; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating an attempted armed carjacking that occurred in the 100 block of Talbott St. in Rockville on Tuesday, November 23. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male and female suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.  

 

At approximately 5:45 p.m., Rockville City Police Officers responded to the Talbott St. location for the report of an attempted armed carjacking that just occurred.   

 

The investigation by detectives determined that the two suspects approached the victim who had just sat in the driver’s seat of his vehicle and closed the door. The suspects attempted to open the car doors and rob the victim at knifepoint. However, the suspects fled without obtaining any property from the victim. The victim then contacted 911 and reported the incident to the police.  

 

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of a nearby business and obtained a physical description of the suspects. The detectives also reviewed the dash camera in the victim’s vehicle and obtained a video recording of the incident.
