Montgomery County Police Investigating Armed Robbery of Dollar General in Silver Spring; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the November 27 armed robbery of the Dollar General store in the 13800 block of Outlet Dr. in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.   

On November 27, at approximately 1:25 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed robbery of a store that just occurred.    

The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the store and posed as a customer. The suspect stole and donned a pair of gloves from the store and approached the store manager who was stocking shelves in the back of the store. The suspect displayed a black handgun and ordered the manager to open the safe. The manager opened the safe and handed over cash to the suspect who fled the store on foot toward Briggs Chaney Rd.  

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the store and obtained a physical description of the suspect.
