Detectives Investigate Armed Robbery of a Rockville CVS Pharmacy

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the December 8 armed robbery in the 11400 block of Rockville Pike. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

On December 8 at approximately 6:40 p.m., 2nd District Officers responded to the CVS Pharmacy in the 11400 block of Rockville Pike for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred. The investigation by detectives determined that an unknown Black male suspect entered the pharmacy and announced the robbery by lifting his shirt towards the employee, in a manner implying he had a handgun. The suspect then demanded that the employee take him to the office and open the safe. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands. The suspect then exited the business with the stolen money and fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6-feet to 6-feet, 2-inches tall with a medium complexion and build. He was wearing a black coat, purple hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, gray sneakers and light-colored gloves.
