Detectives Investigate Silver Spring Assault

For Immediate Release: Saturday, December 18, 2021

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the December 18, first degree assault that occurred in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.

 

At approximately 3 a.m., Saturday, 3^rd District Officers responded to the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue for the report of an assault that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from severe head trauma in the 900 block of Silver Spring Avenue. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

 

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this crime or who may have seen an altercation outside of the restaurants in the 8200 block of Georgia Ave or in the 900 block of Silver Spring Avenue between 2-3 a.m., to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or 240-773-TIPS.
