Detectives Investigate Commercial Robbery in Rockville; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating the December 23 robbery of the 7-Eleven store in the 11400 block of Rockville Pike in Rockville. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.   

 

On December 23, at approximately 11:15 p.m., 2nd District Officers responded to the location for the report of a commercial robbery that just occurred.    

 

The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the 7-Eleven store and approached the clerk who was loading items into a freezer. The suspect motioned towards the cash registers, reached towards his waist to imply that he had a weapon and told the clerk to open the registers. The clerk did not actually see a weapon. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands. The suspect then removed an undisclosed amount of money from the registers, placed it in his pockets and fled the scene.
