Detectives Investigate Auto Theft and Attempted Theft from Auto in Olney

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - 4th District Patrol Investigation Unit are investigating an auto theft and attempted theft from autos that occurred during the early mornings of December 16 and December 19 in the Olney area. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

 

On December 16, at approximately 4 a.m, residential surveillance video captured a suspect in the 18000 block of Wintergarden Terrace checking vehicle door handles to see if the vehicles were unlocked.

 

On December 19, at approximately 3 a.m, residential surveillance video captured a suspect in the 18300 block of Bluebell Lane checking multiple vehicle door handles to see if the vehicles were unlocked, prior to leaving the area. At 5 a.m., residential surveillance video captured the suspect returning to the area. The suspect is then seen entering the victim’s 2013 gold, Toyota Corolla and driving it away from the area.

 

Investigators believe that the same suspects are involved in the attempted theft from autos and the auto theft. 

 

Anyone with information regarding these suspects or this stolen 2013 gold Toyota Corolla with Maryland license plate 6EG0908, is asked to call the 4th District Patrol Investigation Unit at 240-773-5476.
