Detectives Investigate Commercial Burglary in Downtown Silver Spring; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a December 1, 2021 commercial burglary in the 8200 block of Dixon Ave. in downtown Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.     

 

On December 2, 3rd District Officers responded to the location for the report of a commercial burglary that occurred earlier.     
 

The investigation by detectives has determined that on December 1, the suspect entered an unlocked construction trailer and stole a power tool and electronic equipment. The suspect then fled the scene with the stolen property.
 

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the construction site and obtained a physical description of the suspect.     

 

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, medium build, with black hair, carrying a black backpack and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and New Balance shoes.
