Gaithersburg, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police - 3rd District Station, have arrested and charged 29-year-old Jermaine Robinson of Hyattsville for possessing a firearm and a controlled dangerous substance in his vehicle.
On Friday, March 25, 2022, at approximately 10:37 p.m., officers were patrolling the 3400 block of Gateshead Manor Way when they observed a white 2020 Jeep Compass committing a traffic violation. Officers then conducted a traffic stop on this vehicle.
Officers approached the vehicle and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 50 grams of Marijuana and an FN Herstal 5.7x 28mm caliber handgun loaded with armor piercing ammunition. Officers discovered that Robinson’s firearm was not registered.
Robinson was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit, where he has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and firearm related charges.
