Concern for Missing 16-Year-Old (LOCATED)

Update: April 2, 2022- Katia Gonzalez- Contreras has been located safe and unharmed.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigation Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing teenager from Silver Spring.    

   

Katia Gonzalez- Contreras, age 16, was last seen on Friday, April 1, 2022, in the 50 block of University Boulevard East.  

  

Gonzalez- Contreras is approximately 5-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown eyes and long black hair. Her hair may be styled in a bun or ponytail. She was last seen wearing a pink zip-up sweater with black butterflies on the front, blue jeans and tie-dye Crocs. She may be wearing a silver necklace and gold hoop earrings. She was also seen carrying a burgundy backpack. 

 

Police and family are concerned for her welfare.
